About the Journal
BILGI Law Review is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Faculty of Law at Istanbul Bilgi University. The journal aims to re-evaluate the relationship between law and the individual, society, and nature in a rapidly changing world, and to examine the multifaceted reflections of this transformation in the field of law.
In the current era of digitalization and climate crisis, the protection of individual rights and freedoms, the legal limits of technological developments, the transformation of the normative structure, legal education, ethical values, social justice, and the principles of the rule of law are among the core areas of interest of BILGI Law Review. The journal particularly encourages studies that question the vested interests behind norms and the social impacts of law.
In this context, BILGI Law Review includes:
Original academic articles in the fields of public and private law,
Case reviews,
Studies examining the sociological, technological, ethical, and historical dimensions of law,
Translations, book reviews, and analyses of legal practice.
Our journal values an interdisciplinary perspective. In this respect, it offers a platform that bridges the gap between law and fields such as technology, environment, political science, economics, and philosophy.
BILGI Law Review is based on the principles of academic freedom, ethical responsibility, and scientific quality. The entire publication process is based on transparency, academic integrity, and double-blind peer review.
Its target audience includes academics, researchers, legal practitioners, and law students. The journal is published twice a year, in June and December; it is open to articles in Turkish and English.
